Ottiya is committed to providing meaningful, creative, and fun learning experiences for all students. To support consistency, fairness, and high quality instruction, the following policies apply to all classes.

Ottiya Courses Membership Policy

The Ottiya Courses Membership provides digital access to self-paced courses, videos, songs, worksheets, quizzes, and certificates. These materials are available immediately upon enrollment.

Because digital content is accessible right away, all digital memberships are non-refundable once accessed, unless otherwise required by law. Memberships may be canceled at any time to prevent future billing. Access will remain active until the end of the current billing period. Digital memberships do not include live instruction. Live Zoom classes are offered separately and follow a different scheduling and refund policy. Ottiya reserves the right to update course content, add new materials, or retire outdated lessons as part of maintaining a high-quality learning experience. Access to digital content requires creating a free parent or student account to track progress and save certificates.

Live Zoom Classes Policy

Semester Schedule & Academic Calendar

The semester start date is based on the published academic calendar and enrollment period, not individual attendance. Trial classes or consultation sessions do not alter the published semester start date or refund eligibility.

Our academic year is divided into the following terms:

Ottiya operates on a semester-based schedule, similar to a traditional school calendar.

• Fall Semester: approximately August 18 — December 19
• Spring Semester: approximately January 5 — June 11
• Summer Session: approximately July 10 — August 5

Exact class dates, total number of classes, and any planned breaks are shared prior to enrollment and may vary slightly by class and instructor.

Holidays & Scheduling Considerations

When scheduling group classes, Ottiya takes into major public holidays into consideration based on the geographic locations of enrolled students. Due to the international nature of our programs, we are not able to accommodate all regional or country-specific holidays. Classes will proceed as scheduled on holidays not reflected in the class semester calendar provided before the term begins.

Important Notes

• Enrollment is for the full semester, not individual class dates
• Semester schedules are finalized in advance to ensure consistent instruction and instructor availability
• Families are encouraged to review the semester schedule prior to enrollment

Payments & Fees

Full payment for all classes is required before the semester begins. Payment deadlines are communicated via email. If payment is not received by the stated deadline, a late fee of 20% of total tuition may be applied. Students based in South Korea may pay via bank wire transfer. Discounts

Sibling and promotional discounts are offered only for full-semester enrollments.

If the number of enrolled classes is reduced before or after the semester begins, any applied discount becomes void. Discounts cannot be combined with partial refunds or schedule reductions.

Rescheduling & Make-Ups

• Group classes cannot be rescheduled
• 1:1 or private classes may be rescheduled with at least five days’ notice, subject to availability. Rescheduling allows for date changes only; the total number of enrolled sessions remains fixed. Unused or canceled private sessions are not eligible for refunds or reductions and must be completed within the same semester.
• Make-up classes, if offered, are provided at Ottiya’s discretion, subject to availability, and must be used within the same semester
• Excessive or repeated rescheduling requests may be declined to ensure instructional consistency.

Technology & Connectivity

Ottiya is not responsible for missed classes due to technical issues on the student’s end, including internet connectivity, device issues, or platform access problems.

Refund Policy

Aside from trial classes, students are required to enroll for the entire semester.

• Refunds are not available once the semester has started
• Any reduction in enrolled classes after the semester begins is treated as a cancellation. This applies to both group and private class enrollments.
• Missed or canceled classes after the semester start date are not eligible for refunds

This policy ensures consistent scheduling and fair compensation for instructors whose time is reserved for the semester. Any exceptions or accommodations offered are made at Ottiya’s discretion and do not establish precedent for future requests.

Pre-Semester Refunds Only
Refunds requested before the semester start date follow this schedule:

• Full refund: 5+ days prior
• 75% refund: 2–4 days prior
• No refund: Less than 48 hours prior

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days. Transaction fees are non-refundable. There are no refunds for purchased or shipped materials.

Instructor Availability & Substitutions

Instructors are scheduled for the full semester in advance.

If a scheduled instructor is unavailable due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, a qualified substitute teacher will lead the class. Classes taught by substitute instructors are considered valid and are not cancellations.

A class is considered canceled only if Ottiya is unable to provide a qualified instructor. In such cases, families will be notified and appropriate make-up or credit options will be offered.

Attendance

• Missed classes are not eligible for refunds
• If a student does not join within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, the class may be marked as missed

Student Behavior

Ottiya reserves the right to pause or discontinue classes if a student’s behavior significantly disrupts the learning environment. Refunds are not guaranteed in such cases.

Parent Responsibility

A parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring that the child is present, prepared, and able to participate during class time.

Recording & Privacy

Classes may be recorded for training, quality assurance, and customer support purposes.

Recordings may be shared with enrolled families only upon request made before class. Families may not record, share, or distribute class content involving other students. All instructional materials are protected by copyright.

Policy Updates

Ottiya reserves the right to update policies and pricing for future semesters. Changes do not apply retroactively to active enrollments.
